Tsukikage Autumn Matcha (Seasonal)

Regular price ₱850.00

Available only from September to November, Tsukikage is Ippodo Tea's exclusive autumn blend. A ceremonial grade matcha belonging to the 'Medium' category, it is very balanced with just the right amount of sweetness, umami, and astringency. It's best paired with autumn desserts such as chestnuts and pumpkin-flavored sweets.

Tsukikage is a balanced matcha with just the right amount of bitterness, which pairs well with milk. We highly recommend that you try it as an iced matcha latte with oat milk as it brings out the nutty flavors of the matcha. Alternatively, it can also be prepared as usucha, mixed with white pear juice, and served over ice for a more refreshing take.

Hot (Usucha)
70ml 80ºC Water
1.5g Tsukikage

> Sift and strain 1.5g of Tsukikage into a chawan (bowl). Add 30ml of 80ºC water first and whisk with a chasen (whisk) in a W motion to mix together. Add the remaining 40ml of 80ºC water into the chasen and whisk once more. Whisking motion should start in the middle of the liquid and ending at the surface.

* Recommended to pre-heat the chawan (bowl) and the chasen (whisk). Chawan should be wiped dry before adding matcha into it. Using a strainer to sift the matcha will help avoid clumps while whisking and is highly recommended. To enjoy the foam and temperature of the usucha, we encourage you to drink it straight from the chawan.
